flower per scape, sometimes up to three, the scape terminating
no more than 5" or so above water line; abundant here, the
plants completely submersed, with plenty of branching just
below water line; dark, murky water, a flooded ditch, probably
always with some water in it, presently up to about 3' deep;
very snaky woods edge on east side of Hell Hole Road, 0.2
miles northeast of Forest Service Rd 174-A; Francis Marion
National Forest, 3.8 air miles south of Jamestown; 33.2299°N
-79.7012°W; 29' elev.
