Locally common. Flowers yellow.
Forming dense mats with filamentous algae, on the surface of
pools in large, open, boggy fen. Full sun. Adjacent mucky border
of pool supports Dulichium arundinaceum, Glyceria canadensis,
Calla palustris, Lycopus uniflorus, and Sphagnum spp.
