Deciduous forest on slope, Acer saccharum, Carya
cordiformis, Tilia americana, Ulmus rubra, Juglans nigra,
with Podophyllum peltatum, Caulophyllum thalictroides,
Hydrophyllum virginianum, Aquilegia canadensis, Asarum
canadense, Adiantum pedatum, Cornus alternifolia.
Pedicels ± hanging. Flower face held vertically or slightly
nodding. Petals white.
