The New York Botanical Garden Plants of U.S.A. U rticaceae Urtica diocia L. det. gM. Nee, 1993 Wisconsin, Dane Co., low fields and roadsides along Hwy. 73, 1/2 mile S of Hwy. 12, 2 miles S of Deerfield. With Salix, Acer negundo along Mud Creek. T(}A/. Sed-V. Erect stems in a loose colony, to 2.1 m. tall; plants with stinging hairs! Plants either female or with both female and male inflorescences; inflorescence green, the spikes hanging.
