green outside, light green inside. Petiole
and peduncle show snake-like striations.
Boarder light and dark green. Flower
white.
Location: Levee forest situated at the
headwaters of the Tarasona canal which
forms a tributary of the Winikina River just
north of the village of Morichito in Delta
Amacuro State, Venezuela.
Use: The plant is rubbed and lightly
whipped over the legs of children between
2-3 years of age so that when they grow
older they will not be attacked by snakes.
