Hypericum microsepalum (Torr. & A. Gray) A.
Gray ex S. Watson
Shrubs to 2ft tall, usually less, common. Growing in a
low bottomland forest in wet, loamy soil (Pickney and
Rutlege soils, depressional; Sandy, siliceous, thermic
Cumulic to Typic Humaquepts). Growing with
Andropogon glomeratus (?), Baccharis halimifolia,
Cirsium horridulum, Clethra alnifolia, Cliftonia
monophylla, Conradina canescens, Dichanthelium sp.,
Hydrocotyle bonariensis, Hypericum hypericoides, H.
tetrapetalum, Ilex glabra, I. vomitoria, Myrica cerífera,
M. heterophylla, Pinus elliottii, Pterocaulon
pycnostachyum, Quercus minima, Rhus copallinum,
Rubus flagellaris, Sabal palmetto, Serenoa repens,
Smilax bona-nox, S. laurifolia, Solidago odora,
Toxicodendron radicans, Vaccinium darrowii & Vitis
rotundifolia. Within 30ft of the margin of the visitor’s
parking lot of the St. Joseph Bay State Buffer Preserve,
a few hundred feet E. of Route 30A. Gulf Co. Elev.
