University of Illinois at Chicago Plants of Papua New Guinea LAURACEAE Cryptocarya sp. Det. By: Tree, 10m tall. Stem bark whitish, smooth, ca. 10cm dbh. Leaves dark green above, pale to whitish below. Fruit green. Locality: Papua New Guinea: Behind Kwapena's rubber block, Moreguina Government Station, Cape Rodney, Abau, Central Province Habitat: Lowland rainforest of very mixed composition. Common species include Pometia pinnata, Myristica spp. and Lauraceous species. Notes: Site: O. Gideon & P.
