Growing in a seasonally wet prairie in sandy- organic soil, with Aletris lútea, Andropogon sp., Centella asiatica, Chaptalia tomentosa, Drosera capillaris, Hypericum cistifolium, H. myrtifolium, H. tetrapetalum, Hypoxis juncea, Lachnocaulon anceps, Myrica cerífera, Polygala lutea, Quercus minima, Sarracenia minor, Serenoa repens, Syngonanthus flavidulus and Viola lanceolata.
