ABUNDANT (thousands of plants) in shallow (15-100 cm deep), fresh, clear water
in thin layer of coarse sand and silt over heavy clay amongst scattered shale boulders
with occasional patches of Juncus canadensis, Sparganium sp., Eleocharis palustris.
