BOTANICAL EXPLORATIONS IN BAJA CALIFORNIA SPONSORED BY THE BELVEDERE SCIENTIFIC FUND Collector’s note. Portezuelo de la Cues ta de los Dolores is at the crest of the Sierra de la Giganta just west of the north end of Isla San José. The vegetation is comprised of low-growing Caesalpinia placida, Prosopis Palmeri, Pithe- cellobium confine, Jatropha cuneata, Fouquieria Diguetii, Cardiospermum spinosum, Pachycereus Pringlei, Machaero- cereus gummosus, Opuntia. Near the crest of the ridges {alt. ca. 750 m.) are also Pachycormus discolor, Alvordia, Enctlia. BAJA CALIFORNIA, SUR, MEXICO Sierra de la Giganta ViKuiera deltoidea Gray aff• var. Parishii (Greene) VaseySfe Rose Shrub ca. 0.5 m. tall; leaves small; flowers large, yellow. On steep, south-facing slope ?with Mimosa and three species of Bur sera, the vegetation sparse.
