Viguiera dentate (Cav.) Spreng
DURANGO s In semi-desert scrub with Acacia
and tree-Opuntia, about 17 miles east-
southeast of Durango. Pfelsitic substrate.
Elevation about 6200 feet.
Stems clustered on a fibrous-rooted caudex.
jjgaves thin and soft, easily wilting, mostly
opposite, or the upper or even nearly all of
them alternate. Rays 8-12, often 10, yellow,
more deeply so toward the base. Disk yellow
pappus of 2 paleaceous awns and some short
squamellae.
