Clavijo 2016 Revision of the genus Drymonia (Gesneriaceae) Herbarium of the University of Alabama (UNA) ^ / PLANTS OF ECUADOR Gesneriaceae Road from Lago Agria-Coca. Projecto Payamino (IERAC). Edge of pasture on south side of River Payamino bordered on other sides by tropical forest, ca. 265 km. Climber, clinging to trunk of large tree in pasture, flowering and fruiting with 2 m. of ground, climbing to 5 m. FIs. zygomorphic with 5 lobes, lowest lobe longest. Central pink thin stripe visible on inner sides of petals, strongset on upper two. Flowers ca. 4 cm. long, 2.5 across at mouth. Calyx persistent, sepals inverse heart shape, serrated, pale green ca. 4 cm. long. Fruit conspicuous-opened 2 bright red carpels ca. 2 cm. across, surrounding pithy, sticky mass of small black seeds.
