BLECHNACEAE
Rosette forming fern, numerous leaves per plant, sterile
leaves to 3 ft tall & fertile leaves to 4ft tall, locally
abundant. In partial sun in a moist to wet roadside ditch
in loamy sand (Tropaquepts, 0 to 15 percent slopes &
Gibwell loamy sand; Gibwell = fine, mixed, active,
isomesic Typic Hapludults). With Cupressus pygmaea,
Equisetum telmateia, Gaultheria shallon, Juncus sp.,
Ledum glandulosum, Myrica californica, Pinus
contorta, Sphagnum spp. and Vaccinium ovatum.
Along the E. side of Mitchell Creek Road and about
1.3mi S of the intersection with Simpson Lane.
