Description
Pileus 4-11 cm broad, broadly convex to convex, color dark purple/brown, surface somewhat pitted or rugulose, also granular and becoming more granular towards the edge of the margin, cap margin smooth, mild taste, context thick and fleshy (1.5cm +), when mushroom cut longitudinally, context stains pinkish-brown in certain areas, farinaceous taste. Tubes off-white to pale rose (very subtle) in color, 4-6 mm in length (when mushroom cut longitudinally), stains pinkish brown in certain areas when cut longitudinally. Stipe 1.5-3 cm across and 7.5-13 cm in length, equal to ventricose to clavate, stipe attachment central to slightly eccentric, firm and fleshy inside, and staining pinkish brown in certain areas, surface of stipe rugulose and fibrillose.
