Tropical lowland evergreen forest on level,
infertile soil, many trees very slender.
Epiphyte tightly attached to trunk of large
tree, probably once in canopy, now among fal-
len dead trees and yellowish; base of
petioles, esp. the younger ones, pink,
slightly spicy fragrant, Hike Acorus
calamus; petiole flattened above, with slight
rounded central ridge; midrib flat above, not
raised.
