Near upper end of intermittent stream under pine-
hardwood canopy; fairly steep, northwest-facing
slope. Site #71 (Lat. 34o10f15"; Long. 82°44,H"),
ca. 0.5 mile due north of junction of unpaved County
Roads 252 and 254; ca. 0.5 mile west of the Savannah
River. Below the 475-ft. msl contour (full pool for
proposed Russell Lake; impoundment, mid-1980's).
