Climber on Cecropia ca. 5 m above ground, in open spot. Stem 3-3.5
cm diam. Petiole strongly thickened in basal 8 cm, at midpt. with
sheath margins erect but closed together, 2 cm high, non-vaginate
part adax. with strong channel with sharp-angular margins; geni-
culum 6-7 cm long, 1.5 cm wide in side view. Blade subcoriaceous,
brittle, very venose, I.'s strong, margins very undulate; abax.
glossy medium bright green, I.*s cream, midrib greenish cream,
largest leaf with only 4 holes on one side & 1 on other side, some
lvs. not fenestrate. Spathe 19 cm long, 5.5 cm longer than spa-
dix, yellowish cream abax. and creamy white adax., strongly hood-
ed with elongate conic apex; immature spathes gray-green outside
but not glaucous (as seem in dry specs.). Spadix 13.5 x 2.3 cm,
greenish-cream, flowers 7 mm tall; older spadix to 16 x 2.6 cm.
