Wet peat over glacial till. Northeast margin of prairie fen, with Typha, Eupatorium, Juncus greenei, Galium trifidum, Lysimachia quadriflora, Carex spp. Occasional to common fern with slender rhizomes, fronds strictly erect, among sedges, in partial shade under Comus obliqua.
