  • Description

    Pileus 1.5-3 cm broad, dry, convex, with vivid yellow veil remnants overlaying a pale reddish brown ground (7B-C4); this ground soon areolate with yellow showing through. Intact veil arachnoid, vivid yellow (2A8). Flesh white in the pileus, yellow in the stipe, unchanging or slowly and erratically to blue. Tubes depressed around stipe, yellow at first, soon wax yellow (3B5), changing to blue green when exposed; pores concolorous, <1 mm broad, bluing when bruised, light brown with maturity. Stipe 3-7 cm long, 4-7 mm broad, dry, pallid above velar zone, below vivid yellow (2A8) at first, developing greenish tints with age and handling, pulverulent from the veil remains, ±equal to tapering below, with white mycelium at base. Phenology of specimen: Basidiomata.
