CAMERON CO.: occasional in tall-stature shrubland or
palm woodland on soils mapped as deep, well drained,
calcareous, moderately alkaline silt loams (Rio Grande and
Zalla series), on +/- flat agricultural landscape of Rio
Grande delta, both sides of “Scary Road” ca. 1.1 airmiles
ESE of Southmost Preserve HQ, ca. 2.0-2.2 airmiles SE to
ESE of jet. F. M. 1419 (Southmost Road) and F. M. 3068
(Indiana Ave.), at N25°50’59.0”, W097°22’53.7”.
Southmost Quadrangle. Elev. 20-25 ft.
Associates included Amyris texana, Cocculus carolinus, Commelina sp.
(29911), Ehretia anacua, Eupatorium odoratum, Galactia sp. (G. texana?),
Iresine palmeri, Malpighia glabra, Pithecellobium ebano, Sabal mexicana,
Seijania brachycarpa, Sideroxylon celastrinum, Urochloa maxima,
Ziziphus obtusifolius.
