HABITAT: Cultivated in the vegetable garden DESCRIPTION Erect succulent herb 1 metre from a stout rootstoek; stems whitish-green; leaves dark green with a large purple blotch in the centre and purple patches on the upper surface; petioles dark green most of the lower portion, purplish at the top; peduncle green with purplish-brown; spathe bright yellow, the base swollen, greenish- purplish brown; spadix creamy yellow at the top, green with sparse cream glossy blotches below; corms oblong-ovoid brownish-black; DISTRIBUTION: roots white with brown blotches.
