Disturbed vegetation and chaparral around ranch house, with Quercus agrifolia, Adenostoma, Paeonia, Ceanothus, Hordeum, Bromus, Capsella. Flowers ‘burnt-red’, pendulous at stem tips, anthers yellow, pistil green, erect in fruit; multistemme4 fleshy perennial herb, scattered among Adenostoma shrubs and granitic boulders.
