Anthurium nymphaeifolium Koch et Bouché, s.l.
Terrestrial herb to 2 m. tall. Stem erect, 3 cm diam. Cataphyll
pale green becoming rose. Petiole terete with adax. shallow sul-
ca; geniculum deep rose & sulcate, 5 x 0.9 cm. Blade leathery,
adax. dark glossy green with deep rose-maroon spot over point of
union of petiole, the color sometimes extended onto basal ribs;
abax. similar but pale green, rib angular-convex. Peduncle deep
rose-maroon or green on unexposed side. Spathe erect, thick and
brittle, deep rose paling in age, glossy on both faces, nearly
flat, 9 x 3.4 to 20x8 cm. Spadix rose at first or mauve, later
salmon (not brilliant), or deep old rose on exposed side, soon
longer than spathe, 8 x 0.8 to 21 x 2.2 cm; stamens cream.
