Distribution
Anthurium humboldtianum Kunth Epiphyte on tree trunk 5 m above ground. Stem stout, in- ternodes abbreviated. Cataphyll rose abax. Petiole 9 mm deep and 8 mm wide, adax. flattened-concave and 5 mm wide, otherwide rounded, green with red-purple, fine mottling; geniculum 3.5 cm long. Blade subcoriaceous, glossy on both faces, adax. midrib convex, basal nerves concave; abax. midrib & principal veins cream-colored, midrib strong convex-angular. Peduncle adax. 1-ridged, decidedly angular, green. Spathe green, 15.5 x 4 cm, glossy. Spadix sessile, red-burgundy, 23.2 x 1 cm before anthesis, narrowed upward. In age, spathe to 27.5 x 4 cm. Spadix to 18.5 cm (tip lost) x 2.1 cm. Maturing pis- tils with apices exserted 2 mm, purple, quadrangular with obtuse apices, tepals light brown.
