PLANTAS DE VENEZUELA 3 o4S' Anthurium digitatum (Jacq.) Schott Climber up tree trunk to 1 m. Stem 3.3 cm thick, sometimes clothed in rather coarse fibrous remains of cataphylls. Petiole subterete or adax. faintly sulcate, 1.2 cm thick at midpt.; geniculum strong, divided in upper half into 13 parts corresponding to number of blade segments. Leaf umbrella-like. Leaflet stalks flattish adax., rounded abax. Blades thinly subcoriaceous, brittle, strongly undu- late, adax. dark green somewhat glossy with glaucescence; abax. very glossy light green. Spathe fallen, not seen. Spadix sessile, 19.5 x 4 cm (not mature), tepals concave apically lilac, green be- low; pistils lilac apically. Infructescence with ripening fruits: tepals & berries cherry-burgundy but tepals apically buff; ber- ries exserted 3-4 mm, ovoid, apex subhemispheric, 1.2 x 0.6-0.7 cm. Seeds immature, 1 x 0.4 cm. Edo.
