brown bark* leaves erect ox ascending, the stalk twice as long
as the subooriaceous blade; the petiole green and mottled,
deeply fluted on its upper side and Extending from the base
half way up to the blade; fruiting stalks 8 feet longt usually
three from each leaf axil, subterete; the thiek green sheath
yellowish when fully mature* splitting from the apex nearly
to the base» "puff ball” colored on the inner surface; pistil*	I
late oone or receptacle "orange yellow” when old as are also
the soft irregularly shaped seeds; stem tissue soft« white and
spongy; in soft ground along streams of deeply shaded ravines
beyond fopside; *Abaaba*" *Uhe roots are sometimes used to heal
or sooth cuts or bruises* bnotes
