Annual graminoid; styles bifid; floral scale without anthocyanic
pigmentation; bases red; achene suborbicular, 1.75 mm wide, black
with pale gray transverse dashes; growing in association with
Symphyotrichum lateriflorum, Panicum virgatum, Plantago
major, Daucus carota, Lycopus sp., Erigeron strigosus and
Arthraxon hispidus.
