Subshrub; developing fruits; adaxial leaf dark green with pale
green-yellow veins, abaxial leaf and petiole anthocyanic; growing
with Carex pensylvanica, Chimaphila maculata, Quercus velutina,
Quercus alba, Parthenocissus quinquefolia, Carya tomentosa and
Monotropa uniflora.
