Salicaceae Salix petiolaris Sm. det. M. Nee, 2017 MINNESOTA, Cook Co., 8 km (by road)NE of Tofte, Onion River Road, Superior National Forest. 47°38’14”N, 90°47’03”W. alt. 385 m. Swampy woods with Abies balsamea, Picea mariana, Alnus, Populus balsamifera, P. tremuloides, Salix bebbiana. Diffuse clump or colony of few-stemmed clumps, 3 m. tall, the stems slender, erect, apparently only slightly larger shrubs here as these suffering from roadside cutting; stem 1.9 cm. in diameter, ca. 6 years old. Voucher for wood specimen, Kw, Lw, MADw, MEXUw, RSAw. Staminate; past anthesis {Nee 63546, 63547 here are S. bebbiana, now in anthesis). Coll.: M. H.
