Flat, marshy area with Typha latifolia, Alnus incana ssp.
rugosa, Salix petiolaris, S. discolor.
Shrub in a clump or diffuse clump with many slender erect
stems to 2.3 m. high, 3.5 cm. in diameter, 7 years old.
Voucher, for wood specimens at Kw, Lw, MADw,
MEXUw, RSAw. Staminate; catkins visited by small
insects; see Nee 63448 for a pistillate plant.
