Swamp with Alnus incana ssp. rugosa, Spiraea alba, Salix
petiolaris, S. discolor and with only a little Sphagnum and
Chamaedaphne calyculata.
Shrub 3.5 m. tall with a couple of stems in a tight clump,
the largest a dead one 4 cm. in diameter, the wood specimen
from stems 1.8-2.2 cm. in diameter, ca. 6 years old.
Voucher for wood specimens at Kw, Lw, MADw,
MEXUw, RSAw. Pistillate; see Nee 63444 for a staminate
plant.
