US 7Z U.S.A. Salicaceae Salix bebbiana Sarg. det. M. Nee, 2017 1 Minnesota, Cook Co., 8 km (by road) NE of Tofte, Onion River Road, Superior National Forest. 47°38’14”N, 90°47’03”W. alt. 385 m. Swampy woods with Abies balsamea, Picea mariana, Alnus, Populus balsamifera, P. tremuloides, Salix bebbiana, S. petiolaris. Shrub in a tight clump, suffering from cutting at road edge, but the species here becomes a treelet to 7 m. tall, with mostly a single stem, to 18 cm. in diameter. Voucher for wood specimen, Kw, Lw, MADw, MEXUw, RSAw, this specimen from the largest stem, 4 m. tall, 3.4 cm. in diameter, 7 years old. Staminate; see Nee 63547 for a pistillate plant. Coll.: M. H.
