Highway), 0.6 mi N of jet. with Shady Lane Road, ca. 3-
mi due N of Pedee. Willamette Valley (N end
McTimmonds Valley). Elev. ca. 132 m. Humus, clay
loam, moist. Probably some weathered volcanic ash.
Seasonally wet forest, Pseudotsuga, Rhamnus,
Physocarpus, Cornus, Acer circinatum, Holodiscus,
Polystichum munitum. Roadside hedgerow margin.
Rather common tree 15-20 ft tall, branches covered with
lichens; upper branches and peduncles reddish, fruits
green turning red then black. [Bark considered
medicinal.]
