L»j> Ada Hayden Herbarium Iowa State University Flora of Iowa Rhamnus davurica Pallas BOTANICAL NEW YORK BOTANICAL GARDEN Winneshiek County: Decorah Township T98N R8W Section 13 W2 NW4 NW4 A floodplain forest, dominated by Acer neaundo. occurs west of the Upper Iowa River and east of a gravel road. It is located within a unit of the Upper Iowa Access, owned by the Iowa Department of Natural Resources. The forest is approximately 1.5 miles east of Decorah and across the road from Freeport Marsh (owned by Luther College of Decorah). The forest is on the Paleozoic Plateau. Rhamnus davurica is infrequent above the ditch on the east side of the road and on the edge of the floodplain forest. Ramets are up to 6 meters tall.
