Dear Doctor Gleason:
I intended you to keep the "precious
fruit1*, so am returning it in this letter. This one was
broken off of a specimen that still has four attached,
so I think it is best that one be put with the flowering
specimen at New York where it can readily be referred to by
other workers. If my plants (growing in my garden) produce
any fruit this summer, I will try to save you a mature
one. If you wish additional flowering material, let me
know; I still have a few specimens and can include one or
two with a bumch of duplicates I hope to get ready to
send you some time this spring,
I am glad that my acquaintance with
Disporum may be of some help.
