S-facing Wisconsin River valley bluff, formerly dry prairie,
then pastured, now grown up to woods. Lower slope with
Juniperus virginiana, Prunus serótina, Morus alba, Quercus
macrocarpa, Ulmus (U. americana or U. rubra, now dead).
Woody vine into 18 m, 3 cm. in diameter, the xylem 2.6 cm. in
diameter and growth rings hard to define, but perhaps 25 years
old; bark reddish brown and stringy-furrowed. Growing into
top of tree of Juniperus virginiana, 18 m. tall, 40 cm. in
diameter. Voucher for wood specimens at Kw, Lw, MADw,
MEXUw, RSAw. ^Fruit*green, immature.
