Marshy areas with Caltha palustris, Symphoricarpus
foetidus, Viburnum lentago, Acer negundo, Pastinaca
sativa, Salix eriocephala, S. discolor, S. bebbiana.
Shrub 4 m. tall or clumps of shrubs; stems to 8 cm. in
diameter, with many slender young erect stems from the
base along the ca. 10 larger stems. Staminate.
