U5 j&i U.S.A. Staphyleaceae Staphylea trifolia L. det.M. Nee, 2017 WISCONSIN, Crawford Co., 2 km. (straight line) NW of Wauzeka, Kickapoo Wild Woods State Natural Area. 43°06’00”N, 90°53’57”W. alt. 215 m. T 7 N; R 4 W; SWVSNW& sect. 7. Causeway of old railroad grade through Kickapoo River floodplain, partly grassy and open, partly becoming shaded by shrubs and trees, with Juglans nigra, Acer saccharum, Celtis occidentalis. Shrub 4.5 m tall, 5 cm in diameter, the rings hard to count, but perhaps 20 or even 30 years old; always growing in clumps or patches, common along here in one area at base of slope but mostly along edge of old railroad grade, 2 meters above floodplain.
