Shrub 1-2 feet high, growing on loose sand;
trunk about 3 inches in diameter,gnarled, al-
most buried by sand; bark fibrous, dark gray;
leaves shining green; flowers many, white.
Shrub type, west slope; associated with
Primus, Yucca, Artemisia and Gutierrezia.
