GABON, OGOOUE-LOLO, 40 km ENE of Lastoursville. on
CEB exploitation road B6. Primary forest with some logging
tracks.

Treelets, up to 4 m high. Leaves papery, upper side glossy, dark
green, lower side dull, dark, somewhat greyish, green. Young
leaves on upper side shiny, brownish purple, lower side glossy,
greyish purple with medium green primary and secondary
nerves. Stipules light green with brown hairs.
Flowers: pedicel greenish white. Sepals on outer side greenish
white with golden brown hairs, inner side white. Filaments
white, anthers bluish green. Disc pale yellow. Stigmas 3,
yellow-brown.
Fruits heart-shaped from aside, 3 lobes, up to 14 x 19 mm,
lower half medium green marbled with wine-red, apical half
light green with a few wine-red spots.
