Smilax auriculata Walt.
FLORIDA, Leon County: Apalachicola National Forest. In the
vicinity of Lost Lake, 1 mile west of Springhill Road, generally
south of Tallahassee.
Common and abundant in longleaf pine-scrub oak on sand
ridges. A given plant commonly with several perennial main
stems armed with prickles below the inflorescence branches,
commonly forming tangled masses of its own, commonly
climbing into trees and over shrubbery.
