Dry forest, reddish soil over dogtooth limestone. Exostema, Bucida, Amyris spp, Pictetia, Agave, Vanilla. Dogtooth limestone.

Tree 3m, w/ very hard wood; leaves and roots w/ spicy scent when cut.
