SHOSHONE COUNTY: South slope of Orphan Point, St. Joe
Nat’l Forest via FR 301. S34 T43N R4E. Open subalpine
meadows dominated by Festuca ovina ingrata & Poa secunda and
interspersed with Abies bifolia & Tsuga mertensiana. Associated
species including Eriogonum flavum, Arnica cordifolia, &
Lupinussp.. Elevation 5800’. Substrate metamorphic. Aspect
SE. Plants locally abundant under conifers. Strongly rhizomatous.
