Shrubs, planted in row, with Castanea dentata at edge of
plantation of Pinus strobus, P. resinosa. Flat, dry sandy
terrace ca. 2 m. above floodplain of Wisconsin River.
Stems to 10 cm. in diameter, the wood specimen 6 cm. in
diameter. Voucher for wood specimens at Kw, Lw, MADw,
MEXUw, RSAw. Very young immature fruit green.
