Luzula multiflora (Retz.) Lej.

This portion of the Shimek State Forest (owned by the Iowa Department of
Natural Resources) is approximately 2.5 miles west/northwest of Argyle. A
deciduous forest occurs on a moderate, west/southwest-facing slope above
Belfast Road. The forest is on the Southern Iowa Drift Plain.
Luzula multiflora is infrequent and growing in soil or especially beds of moss. It
is associated with Acer saccharum. Geranium maculatum. Parthenocissus
quinquefolia. Quercus alba and Ranunculus abortivus.
