With young trees at edge (e.g. Gleditsia triacanthos) and
surrounding cultivated fields.
Grassy roadside. Flowers very lightly but sweetly and
pleasantly fragrant (10:30 A.M., partly sunny). Petals violet-
blue, the frill on the filaments slightly darker; anthers yellow.
