Habitat
With water-worn horizontally bedded sandstone at soil surface, with damp sand, sedge-marge, exposed rock and waterfall. Vegetation open scrub to closed low woodland in drier areas.

Description
Subshrub with scarcely woody stems to ca. 1 m. Leaves glaucous, tomentose, slightly paler beneath. Sepals and bracteoles dark red. Petals yellow. Phenology of specimen: Flower.
