On lip of bank along the Savannah River; alluvial
forest on narrow floodplain. Site #2 (Lat.
34°03’58"; Long. 82°38’10"), about 0.5 mile south
of the S. C. 72 bridge over the Savannah. Below
the 475-ft. contour (full pool for proposed Russell
Lake; impoundment of the Savannah River scheduled
for the mid-1980fs).
