Mexico. Michoacán. Quinceo, a pueblito on E slope of Pica de Quinceo (2750 m), 6 km (by air) NW of Morelia.

Habitat
Tall plants in shade of large tree on edge of maize fields, on mostly treeless hillside, lower edge of xerophytic semi-deciduous scrubby savannah (near where latter meets the oak zone). "Central Plateau Race" of Wilkes. With Zea mays L. ssp. mexicana (Schrad.) Iltis.
