Herb, up to 2m high. Stems dark violet. Leaves dark green
above, grey-green beneath.
Epicalyx dark violet, calyx green yellowish with red-violet ribs.
Corolla yellow red inside near base. Column of filaments red.
pistil pale green. Fruits green.
Uses: Leaves used as vegetable.
Cultivated in the collection garden of the Department of
Agriculture, ENSA, Nkolbisson, Cameroon.
Seed origin: Westphal 9184, seed collection of the Department
of tropical crops, Wageningen, the Netherlands.
